Photographer Takehiko NAKAFUJI has been charmed by differences of cities he has visited across the world, and continues to photograph street snaps. Since visiting former socialist countries in eastern Europe in 2001, he begun to have his thoughts on historical meanings behind cities. "STREET RAMBLER" from Gallery Niepce) published in 2014 includes Havana, New York, Moscow, Shanghai, Paris, Berlin and Tokyo, cities that experienced dramatic changes during 20th century. This collection of photography has won the 24th Tadahiko Hayashi Award in 2015.
Toki-no-Wasuremono's first exhibition in 2016 presents around 25 works of people and the city of Berlin from 1999 and 2014. Same city but with 15 years between them.

Takehiko NAKAFUJI (1970-)
Born 1970 in Tokyo, photographer. Nakafuji left the Faculty of Letters, Arts and Sciences at Waseda University to pursue a degree at Tokyo Visual Arts. From 2000 to 2005 he was a lecturer at Tokyo Visual Arts. Nakafuji concentrates on monochrome snapshots of urban spaces. More recently, he expanded his photographic activity beyond Japan towards Eastern Europe, Russia, and Cuba, i.e. countries that used to be under socialist rule, or still maintain socialist political systems. Nakafuji also runs Gallery Niepce in the Yotsuya neighborhood of Tokyo.
