Takesada MATSUTANI |
Born 1937 in Osaka. Studied Japanese painting at Osaka City Kogei High School. Exhibited work at the 9th Gutai Exhibition. Became a Gutai member in 1963 and stayed until its dissolution in 1972. Received first prize, resulting in a grant from the the French government to go to France, at the 1st Mainichi Art Competition in 1966, and has been resident in France since then. |
Studied copper printing at Stanley William Hayter’s “Atelier17”, and later became his assistant. Established a silk screen printing studio at Montparnasse and continues to create works at Paris and Nishinomiya. |
